Honest Question for jred fans:

I’ve seen it suggested in the twittersphere that Jemma Redgrave found out about Bernie Wolfe’s final fate (death) via Twitter? Has this claim any merit? Is there a viable source for this information?

I get the fan frustration but the academic in me is always so annoyed by rumors passed along as facts. (The same goes for the rumors that Jemma said Kate Stewart had a wife. Lovely idea but I’ve never found any actual source that substantiated this rumor anywhere. It annoys me. Sorry)

Can someone tell me what I’ve missed?

Re Kate Stewart- I FINALLY found the original audio for quote here ! The original source is recorded on a podcast from a solo panel she did for LI Who in 2016.

At 45:00 Jemma answers a question about how’d she’d like to see Kate’s character develop in future tv episodes and boy howdy she just casually mentions this gay gem of inspiration. It is clear as to her own wishes but it seems perhaps she’s cautious about declaring anything as canon because she doesn’t know if Moffat would have it that way and he’s the show runner. Basically she doesn’t feel like it’s her call. But it’s fascinating that she went there at all like, was that what the person was asking? Jemma Redgrave giving the gays what they want... just because

I’m sort of conflicted because I’m really fascinated by, um, who she is outside of her professional work. There are tantalizing glimpses of her of who she is and her life, um... I thought she, when I started, I thought she was - in my head - she was married to a woman ... but um, that’s- I don’t know if that’s right now ... because....I get - every now and again Steven (Moffat) will drop some thing in about her life and he gives me- and she gives the Doctor or whomever- a piece of information about her life. She’s a gardener, she’s a bridge player, she’s a mother of two children and um, and a divorcée - maybe she is married to a woman- I don’t know. I’m intrigued- I’d love to know what Steven, you know, what he feels. I know what I think, but I’d like to know what he thinks. He’s the master.

And Even though she felt unsure about what Kate could be, I can’t help but love the progression of her past few roles.
